What are we doing today?
It’s kind of a weird question that we ask ourselves often. Even my kids started to ask that question first thing in the morning.
Do we need to do something today?
Do we need to have a plan for each day?
The Stoics tell us that we should enjoy the present moment as is. Tranquility and stillness are concepts that seem recurrent in their teaching.
I find that we can be so restless. Always on the lookout to find something to do. Even if we are already doing something. Always a step ahead. Never in the current moment.
Maybe we don’t know how to enjoy what we’re doing right now.
Maybe we get bored too easily and we don’t know how to handle that boredom.
It’s like we are trained like that.
